Now for me it’s been one of those weeks! I even begin to chuckle as yet more things go wrong. The latest was today when my wonderful cordless sweeper which this morning did what it should, this afternoon, after re-charging, did not want to know. Then there was the TV whose screen suddenly became a piece of modern art with it’s splattering of little coloured squares, dissolving into the words “No Signal”, due to stormy weather. I’ve had that before, and probably need a new set, but I wasn’t prepared for my electric fire to deny me warmth until I found the cable had been chewed ! I thought I had the upper hand with my occasional visitors, as now all food is kept almost under lock and key, but No, I think mice like my home!
I could list more unwanted incidents, but don’t want to bore you. But I do want to say what helped me was my relationship with God through Jesus. Yes, this is important to me in all the ups and downs of life even little ones. Jesus said “ In this world you will have trouble, but I have overcome the world.” And a comfort to me is another quote from the book of Romans in the Bible. “I am free from condemnation,” and “ All things work together for good” . I also believe that Christians have a spiritual Adversary, who wants to get us down.
So next time troubles, big or little, pile up, even if you don’t yet believe even in God……..try a quick prayer. He is waiting to have a relationship with you.
