St Albans Rangers Under-8s overturned a 2-0 deficit to claim a thrilling 4-3 win over Hadley Wood and Wingate Herons.

Rangers got off to a slow start and fell behind within a minute without seeing a touch of the ball. Hadleywood doubled the lead against the run of play but they pulled a goal back through Archie.

St Albans equalised with another effort from Archie but it soon became 3-2 to Hadleywood. A fine team move resulted in Billy making it 3-2 and they netted the winning goal through Matthew.

Rangers U-9 Reds lost 6-1 at home in the Challenge Cup against a strong ACF side.

Jude Denton scored the consolation effort and was named the pick of their team for his outstanding commitment.

Rangers U-10 Reds ran out comfortable 6-1 winners in the opening round of the League Cup against Hadley Wood and Wingate Eagles. First-half goals from Conor Kelly, Bradley Young, Flynn O’Callaghan and Ben Blackwood gave the boys a 4-1 lead at the break.

In the second half the Eagles tried a much more defensive formation but Rangers still managed another couple of goals from David Emiloju and a second from the excellent Kelly.

The U-10 Blues again faced a team from a higher Division in the Cup as they were beaten 7-1 by Harvesters South.

Some battling displays from Rangers all over the field culminated in a great team goal finished by Tom Whitworth.

Man-of-the-match was Jack Geldard for a fine display both going forward and defensively.

Rangers U-11 Reds faced a good test against Cassiobury Lions as they earned a 7-3 win.

Sam Hardie prevented the home side going ahead with two fine saves. Jack Kerr crossed on the right wing and Amjad Choudary met the ball with a great glancing header for the opener.

Kerr then went through on goal after a great assist from Sam Brooks for the second before the hosts pulled one back. Kerr’s second made it 3-1 before Louis extended the lead.

The home side grabbed another goal before Kerr completed his hat-trick. David Brinkley got his goal after a good run on the right wing before a third for the Lions. Star player Louis completed the scoring with his second of the match.

Rangers U-13s produced an improved performance but still lost 2-0 to Bushey and Oxhey.

A superb fightback saw the U-14 Reds defeat Cassiobury Panthers 5-2 in the Challenge Cup.

Rangers trailed 2-0 at the break but they found their form with a second half-revival. Connor Perry struck twice and efforts from Ben Scott, Daniel Bradley and Cameron Chaplin saw them earn the victory.

The U-16 Reds were unlucky to only draw 1-1 with league leaders Whetstone Wanderers Lions.

Nick Baker scored and Jamie Foster was named man-of-the-match.

Rangers U-18 Dons finally succumbed in the County Cup losing 4-2 to Hertford Town after extra time.

A superb performance was rewarded with goals from Dan Brown and a last minute equaliser from the outstanding Andy SB, before superior numbers on the opposition bench took their toll in the added 30 minutes.
