St Albans Ladies were punished for missing their chances as they lost 1-0 to Sevenoaks in the National Hockey League.
The team lost to a last minute short corner wrongly awarded for not being five yards from a free hit outside the 25.
St Albans could not complain though as they dominated large parts of the game with shots from Sammie Archer, Loren Christian and Rosie MacPherson and had five short corners but none hit the back of the net.
Chloe Hobson was again in the wars being felled by the ball in the first half and knocked to the ground in a tackle in the second period.
Lottie Simpson defended well and was the pick of their side.
Meanwhile the men's sevenths earned a 1-0 win over newly promoted Berkhamsted.
St Albans dominated the play throughout the first half which was converted into a goal just before half time.
Charlie Beedle again forced his way into the opposition circle and in the resulting scramble Isaac Keeley slotted home from close distance.
The St Albans team defended well against a resurgent Berkhamsted team and held on to secure the win.
