St Albans School's Under-18 team rounded off their season in style with a 3-0 victory in the district cup final.
Played under stadium lights, St Albans were leading 2-0 at half time against Verulam School at Clarence Park, with goals coming from Kit Akin-Agunbiade and Alex Goldstone.
The team then had to endure constant pressure from Verulam in the second half, with the ball seldom far away from the St Albans goal, forcing keeper Ben Reed into a number of key saves, tipping several shots over the bar with his finger tips.
However, a late jinking run and sweet finish by Kane Vincent-Young sealed the cup win.
Head of football David Forbes-Whitehead said: "Winning the St Albans and Harpenden District Cup final was the culmination of a splendid run of form. It all started by beating St Columbas 2-0 and then narrowly beating Beaumont 3-2 in extra time.
"In the semi-final, we thumped Sir John Lawes 5-0, one of the most satisfying results of the season. The scoreline reflected how truly dominant we were. As coaches, both Bill Wilson and I are delighted that this group of players have been able to fulfil the promise of the last few seasons."
