Deputy Mayor Janet Churchard bowled the first wood
St Albans Bowls Club opened the new season on Saturday.
The Mayor of St Albans was invited to bowl the first wood on the green but due to prior commitments was unable to attend. Deputy Mayor Janet Churchard stepped in to deliver the wood.
The players from the club then played a friendly mixed rinks game at Clarence Park.
