Harpenden Town edged to a 1-0 home win over Codicote in Spartan South Midlands Division One on Saturday.
A Codicote defender dived to cut off a low cross but handballed in the process and Town’s David Keenleyside, who is on loan from St Albans City, fired the penalty into the net in the second half.
Harpenden manager Danny Plumb said: “It was not our best performance, but we kept a clean sheet and got three points against tough opposition.”
Harpenden have just one home game left on Tuesday, April 14 at 7.45pm against Arlesey Town Reserves.
Chairman Roman Motyczak said: “I hope all our faithful supporters will turn up for our last home match and bring their mates for an end-of-season celebration. We are seventh in the league and have come a long way this season.”
