A 42-year-old man has been charged after he overturned his car and smashed into a shop in St Albans.

Jonathan Foster, of Abbots Park in St Albans, was subsequently charged with failing to provide a specimen of breath after crashing his Volvo into a parked Mercedes in George Street on Saturday night.

His car then overturned and rolled into the front of women’s fashion store Earleys, smashing the large window.

Nobody was injured during the crash, which happened at about 11.30pm.

Mr Foster, who has been released on bail, is due to appear before Central Hertfordshire Magistrates Court on October 18.
