Following another night of rain on 5th Oct, Lemsford Road is again flooded at the junction at Fiddlebridge Lane. Residents are bemused why this problem has never been addressed.
I can clearly remember as a small child back in the late 60's, living nearby in Comet Road, and throughout the 70's and 80's, that every time we had heavy rain in both Lemsford Road and St Albans Road - below their respective bridges under the former Hatfield to St Albans railway line - would flood and the fire brigade and/or highways vehicles would have to be called out to drain these roads which would be closed until they were cleared as they were on bus routes.
We're now in the year 2012 but are still facing the same problems.
I have written to the WHCouncil await their detailed response as to why this is still happening, and what the Council are going to do to improve the area to stop this happening.
Kind Regards, Cllr Dean Archer
