A man has been left with a fractured cheek bone after being attacked in St Albans.
The 56-year-old had been walking in Victoria Street at 8.35pm on Wednesday, September 19 when he tripped over a bike.
There was then a fight between the man and the owner of the bike which left him with a fractured cheek bone, severe bruising and swelling around the eyes.
The offender has been described as a white man in his early 20s.
He is thought to be of slim build and around 5ft 5in tall with dark cropped hair.
At the time of the assault he was wearing a dark coloured, long sleeved sweatshirt and jeans.
DC Stuart Alexander, from the St Albans Local Crime Unit, said: “We know that there were a number of people in the area at the time and I would be keen to speak to anyone who believes they saw the incident.”
