New car parking bays for the disabled have been created at St Albans City Station.
Four new dedicated blue badge holder spaces were painted on the Ridgmont Road side of the station this weekend.
Councillor Simon Grover contacted the company earlier this year regarding the shortage of disabled bays.
He said: "People told me that the four bays on the platform one side were frequently full.
"That meant people with reduced mobility who needed to park close to the station entrance couldn't do so.
"I've been pushing FCC to put in more bays for a few months now, and I'm delighted that they have now acted."
Roger Perkins, a spokesman for First Capital Connect, said: "In response to calls from our customers and a local councillor we have created four disabled parking bays.
"These displaced six ordinary parking spaces but we will soon be more than recouping those by creating 16 new spots in the overflow car park which is currently for premium parking only and underused.
"This is all part of a general 'tidy up' of the Ridgmont Road car park.
"We have also repainted the crash barriers and hatched area at the entrance and created a designated walkway for pedestrians to the station entrance."
