The car park at Harpenden train station will be shut on Sunday, October 14 for repairs.
Network Rail will be closing the station’s west side car park from 8am until 6pm to repaint the layout.
The company will also be clearing drains and conducting a survey on the cables that run beneath the surface.
Passengers will be able to reach the station by foot.
Drop offs and pickups will have to be made in the east side car park.
Roger Perkins, of First Capital Connect, said: “We've asked Network Rail to do their work on a Sunday to cause as little disruption to passengers as possible.
“People will still be able to use the main station entrance but they will have to park or pick up and drop off on the east side.
“However, the end result once the final programme of work is complete will be much better parking for everyone.”
