Hertfordshire Constabulary has welcomed a new deputy chief constable this week.
Andy Adams, who has spent 27 years with the force, has a distinguished policing background having joined Essex Police in 1985 and transferring to Kent as assistant chief constable in 2009.
Most recently he led the 2012 Olympic operation in Kent.
David Lloyd, Chairman of Hertfordshire Police Authority is “delighted” to welcome Mr Adams to Hertfordshire.
He said: “Andy’s experience of working with local authorities and other partners in setting up community safety partnerships and his work on criminal justice issues will prove vital.”
Mr Adams is keen to hit the ground running and settle quickly into his new role.
He said: “I will be doing everything I can to rapidly understand how the force works, meet with partners and do my best to contribute towards Hertfordshire remaining one of the safest counties in the country.”
