Landlords in St Albans will be able to learn more about a new scheme that is running in the city.

The St Albans Rent Secure Scheme (STARSS), which is managed by Hightown in partnership with the council, aims to improve the connection between landlords and people looking for accommodation.

Louise Champness, the STARSS co-ordinator said "This forum is a great opportunity for landlords to find out about this scheme which offers financial security through a bond deposit scheme.

“Since its launch in June, we have successfully housed ten people who were homeless or at risk of homelessness on six or twelve month tenancies.

“I have received good feedback from both landlords and tenants and this scheme is really helping the community".

The Landlord Forum will take place on Monday, October 15 from 7pm in the Civic Centre in St Peter’s Street.

The meeting will also include presentations on benefit cap and the new council tax support scheme.
