Hatfield Town Under 15s Match Report
After last weeks narrow defeat in the County Cup against Bury Rangers away, with only 10 players, and managing to take them extra time, after also probably being the better team, lost to a late winner played fellow Mid Herts Division 3 team Bury again on Sunday in a home league match, this time we managed to field 11 players, with Chris Maloney returning to action for his 1st game of the season, and scored within 15 seconds of the start, Blue boys were by far the better team again in the 1st half, and Chris Maloney Scored his 2nd in the 9th Minute, Bury had a couple of chances before half time, but neither were a threat to the Hatfield Goal, Blue Boys went to half time winning 2-0.
In the 2nd half, Bury came out stronger and were putting the blue boys under pressure, and 15 minutes into the 2nd half, got a well deserved goal, to make it an interesting game, 3 minutes later Blue Boys Goalie Jack Hedges made a full stretch save, form a Bury shot, and guided the ball safely round the upright, the game was now end to end, and the defenders Rob Wells, James Davis, Matt Scofield & Ryan Sullivan were called upon on several times, and worked hard to keep the attacks at bay, then with 61 Minutes on the clock, Chris Maloney put a lovely ball through to Betserayi Chirengendure, who scored to make it 3-1, the Hatfield players were showing signs of tiredness, but managed to get through to full time holding on to the lead, and get a well earned 3 points.........Man of the Match was Goalie Jack Hedges.
