Residents will be able to learn more about what happens inside the walls of Rothamsted Research at an opening meeting next month.

Harpenden Society has organised the meeting following a controversial year for the research facility that resulted in anti-GM protests in May .

The talk, which is titles How Biotechnology Can Reduce Our Dependency on Pesticides in Agriculture, will be given by the centre’s director Professor Maurice Moloney.

The meeting will be held in Park Hall on Thursday, October 4, from 8pm.
