A Paralympic bronze medallist has visited a school in Redbourn to tell pupils about her experience at the London 2012 games.
Harriet Lee, who won her medal in the 100m breaststroke, visited St Luke’s Special School on Wednesday, September 9.
The swimmer, who suffers with the overgrowth medical condition Beckwith-Weidenmann Syndrome, gave a presentation to the children and had photographs taken.
Debbie Bloomfield, assistant head at the school, said: "Everyone was thrilled to have a Paralympic celebrity in the school hall.
"We were amazed at how heavy the medal was, and were fascinated to feel the Braille writing.
"It was very humbling for many pupils to see how Harriet, despite her physical impairment and medical condition, has managed to achieve her goals.
"She provided a lot of inspiration to a very welcoming school group."
