A fitness club for women in St Albans is holding a free session of exercise event next week to mark this year’s National Fitness Day.
énergie fitness for women is organising an ‘Empower Half Hour’ event, which encourages visitors to break out in a sweat and complete 30 minutes of exercise.
Councillor Eileen Harris, the city’s mayor, will also be welcomed to the workout, which aims to focus on fitness and help people kick-start a healthier lifestyle.
Callum Hill, manager of the club, said: “This is the perfect time of the year to start thinking about fitness, and National Fitness Day gives everyone of all abilities a platform on which to start a new and healthier lifestyle.
“We welcome everyone to join us on this day to be inspired by others and help celebrate fitness across the UK.”
Visitors are also encouraged to make donations towards Teenage Cancer Trust .
Kerry Johns, mass participation events manager,said: “Sport and fitness are at the foreground this summer, so this is a brilliant opportunity for people to get inspired by sport and take steps to improve their fitness.
“We recognise the importance of wellbeing for body and mind at Teenage Cancer Trust, which is why we’re really excited about National Fitness Day to get the nation thinking about their health.”
The club will hold a free 30 minute circuit class for women of all ages and abilities, starting at 12pm on Friday September, 28, at the club in Catherine Street.
This will also be along with an open weekend beginning on Friday and ending on Sunday, September, 30.
