Residents in St Albans are being invited to come along and drink coffee at a coffee morning next week to raise money towards the battle against cancer.
The St Albans and District Macmillan Cancer Support Committee are holding a coffee morning on Friday, September, 28 in a bid to help raise £10.7m towards Macmillan Cancer Support.
Avril Foster, chair of the committee, said: “Our committee members and loyal supporters have taken part in the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning for a number of years.”
“Without the wonderful support of the local community and the generosity of our local shops and stores we would never have such successful fundraising – no overheads to pay which means every penny donated goes to help the many people who are diagnosed and living with cancer, a fact our group is so very proud of.”
The committee are joining thousands of people across the UK to take part in the World's Biggest Coffee Morning on Friday.
Residents are invited to the event held in Greenwood Park Community Centre, Tippendell Lane, Chiswell Green between 10am and 1pm.
This is the 22nd year of the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning and Macmillan hopes to beat the £10m raised last year.
