Volunteers from the British Heart Foundation were out in full force in a St Albans shopping centre to challenge residents to fill bags with clothes and toys to raise money towards the fight against heart disease.
The Great British Bag-athon was held in Christopher Place between September 13 and 15 to encourage members of the public to donate clothing, toys, accessories, shoes, CDs, DVDs, books, toys into bags which can then be taken back to their local BHF shop.
Catherine Morris, centre manager at Christopher Place, said: "It’s wonderful to see people in the local community getting involved in the campaign.
"Whether groups are getting together to donate five, ten, or 20 bags, or individuals are donating just one bag, it’s all extremely gratefully received and will help the BHF to continue its lifesaving."
