Record numbers of families visited St Albans to play a giant game of Monopoly that hit the city’s streets.
The fifth Monopoly Mania event attracted more than 1,500 people in to St Albans, which invited families to visit 20 different checkpoints including the city centre, Verulamium Park and part of the Ver Valley walk by the Sopwell Nunnery site.
Beth Tyler, event organiser from the St Albans arts, sport and heath development team, said: "The day was such a great success with record numbers attending and the great weather was an added bonus."
The event, on Sunday, September 9, raised more than £500 for Hertfordshire Society for the Blind.
Park Street resident David Crozier said: "We took our six-year-old along and had a fantastic time and are already looking forward to next year."
Councillor Mike Wakely, portfolio holder for sports leisure and heritage for St Albans District Council, said: "This event is a great day out for all the family and helps raise funds for a local charity.
"We are already planning next’s year event.
"Remember to put the date in your diary and come along to join in the fun."
Next year’s Monopoly Mania will take place on September 15.
