Students from a school in St Albans were delighted to welcome an award-winning children’s author to their school.
Sophie McKenzie, who is well known for her series of books, Sister Missing visited Year 7 and 8 students from Townsend Church of England School in High Oaks.
The children gathered round to hear and ask about Sophie’s latest book Missing Me and hear some extracts from the book.
Edwina, a Year 8 student, said: "I really enjoyed the talk because Sophie explained her books with great depth, also describing exactly what to do in order to become an aspiring author."
After the talk, pupils also had the chance to buy personally signed books.
Fallon Ismail, discovery centre manager, said: "Sophie's talk was different to other talks we have had at the school, as she included some audience participation, and interaction, which the students responded well to."
