Dear Hatfield Review,
A new cycle path is generally a welcome addition, but the 300 metre stretch nearing completion alongside Wellfield Road is I think, going to cause motorists problems as this busy road has been narrowed unnecessarily.
Unless double yellow lines are painted to prevent cars parking outside homes, I fear the same sort of congestion will occur as that existing by the slope in Lemsford Road between Fiddlebridge Lane and Stockbreach Road because when cars are parked down there the road effectively becomes single lane.
With buses regularly going to and fro, it becomes a game of chance to see if you can drive through without having to reverse a long way - because a bus won't back up for you!
As my photo shows, the design of the Wellfield Road path has led to the narrowing of it. But why have they left a needless band of grass verge there?
Surely two way traffic needs all the width it can get?
Regards, Andy Stephens
