A man has been robbed of his phone and wallet in St Albans city centre after two teenagers asked him for the time.
Police are appealing for witnesses after the robbery took place in St Albans city centre in the early hours of last Tuesday morning (September 11).
The victim, a 24-year-old man from St Albans, was walking along St Peters Street between 1am and 1.30am when two men asked him for the time.
The men then followed him before pushing him into a bush between the Grange Street and Chime Square turnings and spraying him with what is said to be a pepper spray.
It is believed they then took his mobile phone and wallet.
The two youths then made off up Hall Place Gardens and the victim suffered slight injuries.
The pair are described as white, of slim build, aged between 14 and 18 and spoke with local accents.
They were wearing dark coloured hooded tops with jogging bottoms and trainers.
Anyone with information or who believes they may have seen the two men should contact police on 101 quoting crime reference F1/12/2948 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
