Egg and spoon races, long jump and wizzy javelin were just some of the competitions on offer at a community sports day in St Albans this weekend.
More than 300 people gathered at Westminster Lodge on Sunday for the eighth annual event, which was run by Churches Together in St Albans and the district council.
Susan Devi, the head of the organising committee, said: “This year’s event was supported by the whole community in different ways.
“Each year it has grown and grown.
“We wanted to do something locally to celebrate the Olympics.
“It was an event to celebrate what this country is achieving this year.”
Residents from three years to 60 plus were invited to take part in a range of races and competitions.
Ms Devi added: “It was about the whole family having a fun day together.
“Parents had the chance to try out events that maybe they used to do at school.”
The High Sheriff of Hertfordshire and the mayor of St Albans were among those to attend the day.
