A REDBOURN schoolboy is celebrating after winning the top spot in a village poster competition.
About 831 poster designs were submitted from 19 schools across Hertfordshire on the theme of A Village Wedding.
Run by the Campaign to Protect Rural England, village schoolchildren battled it out to impress the judges.
In the years 0-two catergory, Bertie Beaman, of Redbourn Infant and Nursery, won the top spot out of three.
Judge Caroline McCaffrey, a trustee for competition sponsor Hertfordshire Community Foundation, said: “I would like to congratulate all the children who entered. We have many budding artists in the county.”
There were 19 winning posters which will go on display at the Village of the Year awards evening at County Hall in Hertford on June 30.
