THE hazardous driving conditions on roads around St Albans caused by potholes have continued to anger residents.
Over the last few weeks the Review has reported on a number of people who have come to us with their bad experiences of driving through the craters.
Some have even damaged their cars and are taking compensation claims to Hertfordshire Highways.
Alum Uddin is the most recent resident to contact us on the worsening situation particularly for him in Mandeville Drive.
He said: “I think you will agree with me that this road and many across the city are nothing short of a complete hazard to both cyclists and motorists.
“The county council must be pressured into repairing the pot holes as a matter of urgency before somebody is seriously injured or dare I say killed.”
He added: “In my case it was a burst tyre, let us hope other serious accidents do not follow.”
Mr Uddin has contacted Sandy Walkington, Lib Dem parliamentary candidate for St Albans, and county councillor Chris White to air is concerns.
Hertfordshire County Council said yesterday its road engineers are working around the clock in a desperate bid to repair the potholes which have ravaged the county since the big freeze in December.
In another situation Dursun Altun, Tory candidate for the Clarence Ward of St Albans, has taken to the district's roads to highlight the extent of the damage caused by the snow and ice.
He has sent a list of roads and pictures to the county council asking for action to be taken.
Road identified by Mr Altun include the Sopwell and Ashley Road areas, Porters Wood and Woodstock Road to name a few.
