HELIOSLOUGH has ignored the rail advantages of rival sites, the council's barrister has argued.
Returning to the issue of rail loading gauge, he asked Mr Tilley: “You understand the advanantages of W8 over W7 don't you?
“Colnebrook has W8 gauge – it has clear advantages in rail terms.”
The witness replied: “The Midland Main Line could be upgraded to W8.”
He added that the previous inspector had concluded that the Helioslough location was acceptable in rail terms, but Mr Reed said that nevertheless, the advantages of other sites had not been properly considered in the company's study.
