Representatives of several local environmental groups joined a march asking world leaders to agree sharp reductions in the gases causing the Earth to warm in a conference opening in Copenhagen today.
Sarah McLaren of St Albans Friends of the Earth said: “With the all-important Copenhagen climate talks taking place it was vital to have our voices heard.
“The presence of tens of thousands of people marching on Saturday gives Gordon Brown a clear mandate to push for strong and immediate action on our emissions, and encourage other nations to do the same.”
