If you’re at all interested in our world, our society and the future, there’s an important film you might want to see.
A Crude Awakening is a multi-award-winning documentary about what happens when the global demand for oil outstrips the supply. This idea, known as peak oil, is rapidly rising up the political agenda to sit alongside the issue of climate change.
Barack Obama has talked about it, and the fact that the US has no choice but to move away from oil dependency.
The film will be getting its very first screening in St Albans on Tuesday 25 November. It is being shown by the Green Party, following their packed-out showing of An Inconvenient Truth last year.
This film is just as important as An Inconvenient Truth. Like climate change, peak oil is happening now, and the consequences will change the world.
A Crude Awakening is at Trinity Church Hall in Beaconsfield Road, St Albans, on Tuesday 25 November. It starts at 8pm and tickets are £5.
You can reserve tickets by emailing film@sagreens.org.uk or calling Lydia on 07730 800756.
