A Harpenden infant school is looking to expand its capacity to cope with growing demand by submitting plans for a renovated classroom block.

An application for the lawful development of a new "renovated" classroom block has been made by Paradigm Architects on behalf of Crabtree Infant School.

Plans for the new-look block include two musical classrooms and a further two workspaces labelled "Classroom A" and "Classroom B".

A supporting statement said: "There are no changes to the surrounding site. The access to the building has been altered and a total of three external doors has been provided, two of which acts as an escape route during emergencies.

"The building will feature two classrooms, two music rooms, a small pantry, and a toilet area. Sufficient windows have been included for natural light and ventilation, and the building will have a one-sided sloping roof."

Currently, plans are under public consultation and open to comment until Saturday, December 6.
