Redbourn welcomed a new patisserie offering cakes and fresh coffees at the heart of the high street last weekend.
Lucy's Patisserie opened its doors at 18 High Street on last Saturday (November 30) welcoming lovers of sweet treats.
With a bi-weekly menu of hot desserts, different cakes, pastries, filled croissants, and fresh juice and coffees, the eatery has plenty to offer.
A successful opening Saturday saw owner Lucy Harris, 37, run out of pastries in under "two hours".
"It was mental, the Harrow Mayor came and opened the doors and it was non stop, I've had to bake every night since!" She said.
For Lucy, this had been years of hard work in the making, including taking a baking course.
She said: "Five years ago I couldn't even bake anything. I took a cake decorating course and then did two years as a pastry chef at West Herts College."
Since her courses, the 37-year-old mother of three has traded from home and created pop-ups at festivals across the county.
Her dream was always to open a shop which became a "surreal" reality this year.
"Its been a few years of hard work, beginning with the exterior and the interior of the shop, especially since we got the keys in June," Lucy added.
"Now we've opened, it's very overwhelming, and feels quite surreal. There was such a build up to this point that it almost doesn't feel real."

The build was a family affair, with Lucy's uncle, sister, mum Georgie, and three children supporting her all the way.
"It's been all hands on deck within the family, my uncle has helped with the building and my own work - Howdens - helped with the kitchen design," she said.
The patisserie hosts six covers inside and a further four outside in addition to a takeaway service.
Lucy extended her gratitude to the "warm" and "welcoming" Redbourn community and hopes to open another branch in the future.
