Both motorists have been hospitalised after a two-vehicle collision between Colney Heath and Welham Green.
Police were called at 9am to reports of a road traffic collision on Tollgate Road involving two vehicles - a black Land Rover Defender and a blue Ford Focus.
The Fire Service are also attended the scene alongside the East of England Ambulance Service.
Following the reopening of the road at 11:30am police confirmed that both drivers were taken to hospital.
A spokesperson said: "Both the driver of the Ford Focus, a man in his 40s, and the driver of the Land Rover, a female, were taken to hospital via ambulance with suspected minor injuries."
