Owners of a St Albans hair salon were "proud to wave the St Albans flag" as they scooped two prestigious regional awards.
Ten members of the Trinder Hair Salon team attended the Hair Salon Awards 2024 in London last week, where they won "best refurbished salon" in Herts.
Co-founder Marc Trinder, 42, said it was a "hugely inspiring" evening and was happy to see his team obtain two titles.
"It was a really fun evening, we beat some local competition and it was a good achievement to share with our team," he said.
One of Trinder's stylists, Dean Lawton-Taylor, was also recognised as he won the "creative image award".
"It's an immensely proud feeling, even for the two girls who did not scoop their titles, to get to the finalist stage is an achievement in itself," Marc added.
"A lot of the team were developed as apprentices and worked really hard, I hope the awards helped them to see it does pay off."

The co-founder expressed his delight as key members of the team were "highlighted" and hopes to continue taking on new recruits amid the new budget.
He added: "We want to carry on educating and inspiring out team, and continue to employ apprenticeships.
"The Budget could hit us hard, but we want to provide employment and to receive recognition in the industry will help keep the momentum."
Currently, the salon is battling for permission to create a walkway between the original shop and the refurbished extension.
The shop has suffered two planning rejections, but Marc hopes their recent award successes will help to convince the district council to approve their application.
