Hays Travel has left its St Albans unit vacant, but what is happening to the store?

The travel agent was based at 14 The Maltings, but closed its doors on October 18.

It has now been stripped of all Hays Travel branding and its windows boarded up with black material.

"We apologise for any inconvenience," the sign added.

"The team won’t be returning to the same unit."

The spokesperson also suggested that the team is moving but are yet to confirm a new location in St Albans.

Several stores have moved into the St Albans shopping centre in the last year, including Mr Simms Sweet Shop and Waffle Wands. Further refurbishments have also been made to Wilkos, Oliver Bonas and most recently New Look.

The Maltings team has been contacted for comment.
