If you love looking up at the sky and watching it light up with vibrant blues, pinks, and purples each year, you’ll want to check out the list below to find the best places across St Albans and surrounding areas to watch the fireworks display on Bonfire Night.

1. St Albans Fireworks, Verulamium Park

Starting with a bang we have the St Albans Fireworks Spectacular in Verulamium Park on Saturday, November 2 at 7.30pm.

The annual display is raising money for Home-Start Hertfordshire and Earthworks St Albans.

Home-Start Hertfordshire supports families facing challenges with post-natal depression, isolation, bereavement and much more through volunteer mentorship.

Earthworks St Albans helps individuals with learning disabilities, acquired brain injuries, autism, and mental health needs by managing 3.5 acres of eco-gardens in St Albans.

Gates will be open from 6pm and tickets are available at the gate on the night or via https://www.stalbanscathedral.org/event/st-albans-fireworks-spectacular-2024.

2. Willows Activity Farm low-bang fireworks

For those who prefer a quieter experience, the Willows Activity Farm Fireworks puts on a dazzling display with a low bang.

The display will take place on Friday, November 1 and Saturday, November 2, with gates opening at 5.45pm and the display beginning at 7pm.

This event is suitable for those who are under 5 years old and school-age.

However, please note that this is a low-bang display, not a no-bang display, so if your child is particularly sensitive to the noise of the fireworks discretion is advised.

Tickets will sell out fast so if you are interested and want more information, visit: willowsactivityfarm.com/events/low-bang-fireworks.

3. Harpenden Rugby Football Club Community Fireworks

If you want to enjoy the fireworks and also experience a vibrant atmosphere with food, drinks, a DJ and a fun fair, maybe this year you could try the Harpenden Rugby Football Club community fireworks display.

These fireworks will be going pop, whizz and bang on Sunday, November 3 at 6pm, but the gates will be open from 4pm.

As there is no parking available on site, the club is also putting on a free park-and-ride service from Church Green outside Chef Peking.

4. Wheathampstead Fireworks

Love candy gloss, doughnuts and barbecues? If so, the Wheathampstead Fireworks display will be perfect for you.

They are back at Beech Hyde School on Sunday, November 3, for another year of vibrant fireworks.

Gates are open from 4.30pm and the show will begin at 5.45pm.

If you have young children who do not like the loud bangs or you simply prefer to watch the display without the loud noises, the Wheathampstead Fireworks display has a quiet room with direct views of the fireworks that you can use to watch the display from.

All funds generated from the evening will go to the school and help fund extra facilities and activities for the pupils of Beech Hyde Primary School and Nursery.

5. Redbourn Fireworks

Want to see the fireworks this year but would also love to see a free event? Redbourn has got you covered.

This fantastic free community event will take place on Saturday, November 9 at Redbourn Common, and the sky is set to light up with colour and noise at 7pm.

A fun fair with food, a bucket collection and a raffle (cash or card) will be open from 5pm.
