Delays on the M25 are set to continue into the night after a large oil spill has resulted in two lanes being closed.

Earlier today (August 6), delays were reported after a lorry broke down between Junctions 25 and 26 clockwise for Waltham Cross and Waltham Abbey, with a diesel spill also causing issues.

As a result, motorists were facing lengthy queues back to junction 23 for South Mimms and the A1(M).

While National Highways had initially hoped the incident would be resolved by lunchtime, they were forced to close two lanes to assess the road for possible resurfacing.
