Plans to demolish a garage and outbuildings to construct a new three-bedroom home have been granted by St Albans City & District Council's planning committee.
Along with an existing three-bedroom home at 1 Firwood Avenue, an extra property can now be constructed.
The site will now be divided into two plots, with no detrimental effect on the site's context and character promised.
Floor plans show that a lounge, kitchen and utility room will feature on the ground floor of the property.
Three bedrooms and a bathroom will be located on the first floor.
A decision notice reads: "In the pursuance of their powers the council hereby permit the development proposed by you in your application.
"The development hereby permitted shall be begun before the expiration of three years from the date of this permission."
Three public comments and objections were made to the application, prior to permission being granted by the council.
