Britain's oldest pub' owner helps singers to release album

Martin Robinson - who co-owns Ye Olde Fighting Cocks in St Albans - allowed Katie Lobatto and Juan Fos, aka 'KatiePlusJuan', to use his own studio to record their new album Solitaire.

The duo then released the original songs during a gig at the Horn, on Victoria Street, on Thursday, November 16.

KatiePlusJuan supported Sinead Quinn on the night, with their album now available on Spotify.

The singer-songwriters create a varied mix of genres from soul, pop, country and Latin and have played "countless times" at Ye Olde Fighting Cocks.

Seven songs are included in their new album, including Mr Seymour, Paperweight, One Person and Jack of Hearts.

Martin, who has known Katie and Juan for 11 years, commented: "We have a regular live music night on Fridays, which is very popular and has been a great springboard and showcase for local bands.
