This year's Living Crafts festival in Hatfield will be fit for a King!

The annual event will return to the grounds of Hatfield House over the King's Coronation Bank Holiday weekend.

Organisers are ready to welcome craft-loving visitors for a celebration of creativity in Hertfordshire from Friday, May 5 to Bank Holiday Monday, May 8.

Organiser Robin Younger said: "Living Crafts is a highlight of the UK’s craft calendar and we have been championing British craft skills for nearly 50 years, valuing originality, excellence in design, provenance and sustainability.

"Our reputation for quality is testament to the careful selection of our amazingly talented designer-makers.

"We have an exciting show for 2023 whilst we celebrate the Coronation over the weekend."

Living Crafts will be bringing the wow factor to the historical landmark of Hatfield Park with a buzzing festival of contemporary crafts.

A spokesperson added: "Our specially chosen designer-makers will be showcasing exceptional British craftsmanship at this gem of a craft event.

"Don’t miss the ‘Crafts for the Coronation’ display in the Showcase Pavilion, the stimulating brass and jazz bands and expect plenty of bunting, Coronation decorations, celebratory drinks and afternoon teas and, of course, a large screen TV for a live feed from the big event itself!"

With its unique blend of contemporary skills, innovation, design and traditional heritage crafts, this event is about creative processes in action.

You will be surrounded by activity - spectacular glassblowing, hand throwing in clay, stone carving, metalwork and so much more.

Visitors will be able to discover the beauty of craftsmanship through a series of demonstrations, and take part in the popular programme of hands-on craft workshops.

Show highlights include The Art Centre, Craft Masterclass Pavilion, and Living History Village including demonstrations of jewellery making, longbow making, leatherwork and ceramics. Not forgetting the ever-popular Food and Drink Pavilion featuring delicious artisan fayre.

You can also choose from the dozens of creative workshops and learn from the show's friendly experts to make your own masterpiece to take home and enjoy.
