A 16-year-old boy was racially abused in St Albans sparking police to appeal for witnesses.
It happened in Hatfield Road near the junction with Ashley Road between 5.05pm and 5.15pm on Friday, March 25.
The victim was walking towards the city centre when racially offensive language was shouted at him from a vehicle passing in the opposite direction.
He was unable to get an exact model or registration but has described it as being red and possibly a Nissan or a Volvo.
PC Charlie Marshall said: “This kind of behaviour is extremely upsetting and is absolutely unacceptable.
“Our enquiries are continuing at this time and, as part of this, we are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to please come forward.”
He added officers are particularly keen to talk to people driving in the area at the time who may have captured the incident or vehicle on dash cam.
Anyone with information can contact officers via 101 quoting reference 41/24014/22.
