A driver managed to escape without any injuries despite flipping their car into a field off a motorway slip-road.
The crash involving a Honda CR-V happened at junction 8 for Hemel Hempstead at around lunchtime today (March 22).
The Hertfordshire road policing team uploaded a photo of the wreckage with a caption that said the driver had "seriously misjudged" a corner.
The photos show the crash happened just before the bend on the slip road from the southbound carriageway.
The policing unit said the driver "luckily" walked away without any injuries.
It looks like a lamppost may have been taken out by the driver with other wreckage lying in the undergrowth. Highways officers are also on scene to assess damage to the road barrier.
The vehicle came to rest upside-down just behind some trees before being lifted out and recovered.
The recovery revealed the Honda lost windows in the crash and suffered significant damage to its body including the bonnet, side doors, and roof.
A police spokesperson said: "Police were called at 1.02pm to reports of a collision on the junction 8 slip road of the M1 (southbound).
"One vehicle was involved – a blue Honda CR-V - which had flipped onto its roof, landing in a field.
"Nobody was injured. A road closure was put in place and the vehicle was recovered."
