A 15-year-old boy has been accused of terrorism offences after being arrested in St Albans.
Police attended an address in the district on Monday, March 7, before arresting and detaining a teenager under Section 41 of the Terrorism Act 2000.
A warrant of further detention was later obtained, allowing them to detain the boy until Monday, March 14.
He was charged on Sunday, March 13, with two offences under Section 2 of the Terrorism Act 2006.
He is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court today (Monday).
The Metropolitan Police Force's Counter Terrorism Command are still carrying out enquiries.
