A motorist is alleged to have assaulted police officers before they found a kitchen knife in a vehicle in St Albans.
Hertfordshire Constabulary says police spotted a vehicle going above the speed limit around 3.55am on Saturday, February 5.
It was stopped in New House Park, where the driver allegedly became aggressive and assaulted officers while resisting arrest.
A roadside breath test was then conducted.
A search of the vehicle was also carried out and a kitchen knife was discovered as well as several bank cards.
A 23-year-old man from Borehamwood was arrested on suspicion of:
- Resisting arrest
- Driving with excess alcohol
- Possession of a bladed article
- Theft from person
- Criminal damage
- Driving without insurance
He remains in police custody at this time.
