A woman suffered bruising and a man was taken to hospital after two assaults in Park Street.
Hertfordshire Constabulary has made an arrest following the incidents, which occurred on Wednesday, December 22.
The first happened at 12.40pm – it was reported an altercation broke out between a man and a woman at the shops on How Wood during which the woman suffered bruising.
Then at around 3:30pm, a second altercation took place in Alder Close between two men.
One man required hospital treatment for cuts and bruises to his head and body after being assaulted.
Police are looking for information and witnesses to the two incidents.
Detective Constable Stephanie Phillips, who is investigating, said: “While a man has been arrested in relation to both of these incidents, which are being linked, I’d like to hear from anyone who witnessed them take place.
“The first incident took place by the shops on How Wood and it is understood people were in the vicinity at the time. If you saw what happened then please get in touch.”
