An office in St Albans city centre has been sold to a property company for millions of pounds.
Telereal Trillium, which describes itself as "one of the UK's largest property companies", has bought Marlborough House for £7.9 million.
Marlborough House, in Upper Marlborough Road, comprises around 45,000 square foot of office space.
It is currently let to multinational engineering and infrastructure firm AECOM.
Telereal Trillium, which owns and manages more than 12,000 properties across the UK with a value in excess of £8 billion, has bought the building from BMO Capital.
The company says the acquisition of Marlborough House underlines the company’s "appetite to acquire well-located, strategic sites with development potential".
Duncan Brisbane, development director at Telereal Trillium, said: "St Albans is widely recognised as a highly desirable place to live and work with excellent transport connections to London and elsewhere.
"We believe Marlborough House represents an exciting opportunity for our team to ensure this prime city centre site is regenerated and continues to make a positive contribution to day-to-day life in St Albans."
Telereal Trillium was advised on the transaction by Finn & Co and the law firm Reed Smith.
