A man has been jailed after he was caught stealing six bottles of wine from a supermarket in St Albans.
Police arrested Johnathon Cox, from Pengelly Court in Milton Keynes, following the theft from the Co-op in London Road.
He was stopped on Monday, March 15 by a PCSO and the alcohol was recovered.
The 38-year-old was charged with theft from a shop and appeared at Hatfield Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, March 16.
On appearing at court, he was also charged with breaching a suspended sentence.
He pleaded guilty and was jailed for a total of 10 weeks and ordered to pay costs.
