A trailer overturned on a busy dual carriageway near a major roundabout yesterday.
Police were called to reports of a crash on the A414 by the Park Street roundabout just before 2.20pm on Monday March 8.
Photos taken by an officer at the scene show a trailer on its site blocking the carriageway but the vehicle cab stayed upright.
Until the trailer was recovered, there was no access onto the A414 towards London Colney.
A police spokesperson said: "Officers attended and closures were put in place while the lorry was recovered and debris was cleared.
"The road was reopened by 3.55pm. No one was injured."
The road policing unit tweeted yesterday evening: "Apologies for delays earlier on the A414 between St Albans and Hatfield. Dealing with an overturned agricultural trailer blocking the road.
"Carriageway now clear."
