The captain and crew of the HMS St Albans moored in St Albans for a visit.
Commander Chris Ansell and five members of the crew visited the St Albans sea cadets in a whistle-stop tour of the city, and gave a talk about life on board the Royal Navy frigate.
They also presented a £1,000 cheque to Rennie Grove Hospice Care on their visit, and spend some time with the city’s mayor, Cllr Mohammad Iqbal Zia.
He said: “I was pleased to welcome Commander Ansell and his crew to our beautiful city and to show them some of the sights, including St Albans Cathedral.
“It was fascinating to hear what HMS St Albans has been doing since I visited the ship last July for an Armed Forces Day event.”
The ship’s company was granted the Freedom of the City of St Albans in 2004.
