A woman in her 30s has died after a car caught fire in a country lane.

Emergency Services were called at 9.33am this morning (Thursday, December 28) to reports of a blaze in Hixberry Lane, on the outskirts of St Albans.

A Hertfordshire Police spokesperson said: “We can confirm that a body was discovered at the scene but formal identification is yet to take place.”

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
