Mary Poppins

One of Walt Disney's classic films based on the Mary Poppins novels by P.L. Travers. Mr Banks children create their own advert for a new nanny - they ask for someone with a little kindness and imagination, and Mary Poppins, who floats down from the sky, is the answer. Her arrival is the start of a whole new magical adventure for the children - watch this fun-filled film and sing-a-along to the timeless songs.

Willows Activity Farm

The farm are promising fun, February frolics to coincide with their lambing period. Last year hundreds of lambs were born at Willows. If time is not on your side than children can help Bo Peep find her lost sheep, have a sing-a-long in their theatre or get stuck in to arts and crafts.

Wild Art and Mini Beasts

If you go down to the woods this half term, be sure to dress up warm as you could be going on a mini beast hunt in Cassiobury Park (February 17). Meet at Gade Avenue car park.

Children will also be able to take a walk on the wild side of Whippendell Woods (February 18). Taking inspirations from the creatures that live in the woods artist Alex Baranovski will create a number of timber and steel sculptures and children will have the chance to paint some fabric banners that will be hung from Alex's creations. A gazebo will be just behind Grove Mill Lane car park.

Children of Eden

A heartfelt yet humourous production looking at the age-old conflict between parents and children. Adam, Eve, Noah and the 'father' who created them are on journey of love, letting go and ultimately having to deal with the actions of their headstrong children. Inside Out (U)

Growing up is a bump road and Riley is no exception. The youngster is uprooted from her Midwest life and moved to San Francisco and her emotions, Joy, Fear, Anger, Disgust and Sadness, which live in Headquarters - the control centre in Riley's mind, are in conflict. Although Joy is important to Riley, it soon becomes a struggle as they try to navigate around the new city, house and school.

Craft-making and storytelling

Children can enjoy a half day of dance, crafts and storytelling - all in one place. Fly away with Peter Pan into the world of Neverland at this screening of the infamous children's tale. Peter is a 12-year-old orphan living in London who finds himself being whisked away into a fantastical land where he meets James Hook and the warrior Tiger Lily. Together they go on an adventure to save Neverland from the pirate Blackbeard. Along the way, mischievous Peter finds himself becoming the hero forever known as Peter Pan.

St Albans Museums

The Verulamium Museum has an incredible line up of Greek mythology themed events for children this half term. From making colourful dolphin mosaics and masks to incredible storytelling events. Children will not only be able to hear the thrilling story of Icarus and his escape from the labyrinth but also learn about Medusa - a gorgon who had snakes growing out of her head and could turn people to stone by looking at them.

The Live Music Project: Gallery Acoustic

Tom Craven and Phoenix O'Neill joins the Trestle Arts Base for a special night of acoustic music. Tom, who following his recent success with his crowdfunding campaign, is hoping to go on tour across the country soon. Phoenix is an up and coming singer-songwriter who after recording her track at the base, will be coming back to perform again.
